Ncounters: Colour — another success

Can you paint sound? Can you feel music? Can you separate sound from colour?

These were the questions posed to the participants and audience at Dewey’s pub this past Friday, answered in many different and colourful ways. As always the atmosphere was both relaxed and engaging, with questions waiting to be asked and philosophical thoughts demanding to be let loose. The performances ranged from folk, pop and noise music to spoken word and dance. Between each performance, discussions on colour and its many different interpretations ensued touching on topics such as synesthesia, theatre lighting, perfect pitch and modality. All in all, it was an engaging, informative night of performance and discussion that brought together performers and thinkers from many disciplines to create a dialogue that is sorely needed in a category as varied as the arts.
